I am 58 carpenter and joiner by trade, lots of experience in the building industry but never really interested in carving.
Hobbies have always been the big outdoors from the age of about nine, shooting fishing, falconry and field trialing in particular working cocker spaniels.
Around 1988 I started to get into artwork related to fieldsports and so started to paint which, developed into carving and painting birds and decoys.
About two years ago I did not like the stocks on my rifles so made a couple and interest was such,  I made stocks for others.
I have never been a prolific producer of the artwork but now and for about the last eighteen months I have earnt my living carving and stockmaking.
I thought it might be a good idea to make knives to go with the gunstocks and that's how I found Bernies website.
